Mama's Morning Mushroom Mocha

Well, I was going to call this elixir Mama's Morning Maca Mushroom Mocha- but try saying that five times, right?

In all honesty, I KNOW that this elixir is going to come off as strange to some- a combination of espresso, ghee and mushrooms? 

Trust me - I'm not crazy, I'm just a busy mama whose focus this year has been to nourish and gain strength back into my body.

So,  this recipe was a result of lack of time to make breakfast, but needing caffeine and nourishing fuel to get going with my day- but offers supreme hormone balance, fat, carbs, protein, and a caffeinated kick in the pants! 

Think of this as a warm breakfast smoothie- the texture is super creamy and frothy! Beautiful alternative to a frozen smoothie- especially for those of us living in northern climates- I discourage cold elixirs in the winter as it can dampen the immune system and energy!

Mama's Morning Maca Mushroom Mocha

Makes one large cuppa

  • 3 cups of boiling Water
  • 2 shots of Espresso (or sub hot water for hot coffee)
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 tsp Maca Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cacao Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/8 tsp Micro Magic Powder (or sub out any mushroom powder of your choice and dose accordingly)
  • 1/2 tsp Ghee (I love Rasa Holistics Pitta Ghee that is infused with rose petals) but you can sub out with butter, coconut oil, or a handful of cashews
  • 3 pitted dates

Combine all together in a high speed blender, pour into your favorite mug, and set an intention for your day (this is a super important ritual especially when you we are using microdose!).
