Our Founder
Meet Lauren
Wild Roses Apothecary began with a love of plants, a belief in their ability to care for us, and the hands of herbalist and founder Lauren LaRose.
A clinical herbalist, holistic nutritionist, birth and postpartum doula, Lauren has spent more than a decade immersed in the world of plant medicine, women’s wellness, and the rituals that bring us back to ourselves. An alumna of Wild Rose College, she has taught hundreds of workshops and shared the practice of herbalism with audiences across Canada.
But long before Wild Roses became a brand, it was a feeling.
While working in an organic apothecary and holistic spa, Lauren found herself dreaming of a different kind of skincare, one created through the eyes of an herbalist, where the plants weren’t added as an afterthought, but were the beginning of the formula.
Rooted in the wild, resilient landscape of the Canadian boreal, she began creating her own botanical preparations: slow infusions, herbal oils, teas, and skin rituals made with intention.
In 2014, those first small-batch formulas became Wild Roses Apothecary.
What began at farmer's market tables has slowly grown into a collection of botanical skincare and herbal teas created to make everyday care feel a little more sacred.
Each formula is informed by Lauren’s background in herbalism and her belief that beauty doesn’t need to be complicated to be beautiful, that some of the most luxurious things in life are also the simplest: plants steeping in warm water, oil pressed into freshly cleansed skin, a cup of tea made slowly, a few quiet moments that belong entirely to you.
Her work eventually grew beyond the apothecary. Lauren is also the founder of Wild Roses Festival, now Canada’s largest women’s festival, bringing together nearly 1,000 women each year for a weekend of learning, connection, creativity, wellness, and community.
Through both Wild Roses Apothecary and Wild Roses Festival, the thread has remained the same: creating beautiful spaces for women to reconnect—with nature, with one another, and with themselves.
Lauren is a mother of two and lives in Edmonton, Alberta, where the changing seasons, boreal landscape, and wild rose continue to shape the world of Wild Roses.
